I noticed you didn’t mention anything about backpacker hostels in your housing section. You can pay for one night at a time and its often anything from £12 a night. You can’t usually stay in the hostel during the day and you can’t claim any benefits to cover the cost

With regards to (a major London training company)... when I recently did a course, which was over forty hours a week, I was told not to say anything to the jobcentre by one of their advisors, which could have serious consequences for anyone who is claiming benefits, my advice would be to ask before doing (such) courses, for anyone that is honest because it could have dire consequences for you.
On the subject of paying for private training courses. If you are ex-forces, it is well worth checking whether a forces organization might pay. They paid over £2k for me to do a tiling course.
If you want a break from London, the YHA take on Youth Hostel assistants between January and April every year. You have to work for them for a minimum of 6 to 9 months. It will give you a roof whilst you are working. They don't pay your travel to the interview so you would need to sort that out. See yha.org.uk
